Is the Ranger really returning?

The name Ranger is coming back.........

Ford's Edsel Ranger car, 1957 to 1960

Then F-150 pickups had a "Ranger Model" package and styling, 1965 to 1981

In 1983 a Mid-size pickup was added, this is the Ranger we know and love
Until 2012

Ford/Mazda has been making and selling the BT-50/T6 with Ranger name overseas since 2006

This design was only slightly smaller than the F-150, and it didn't pass stricter North American safety and emissions standards.
But worldwide these standards are getting stricter so.........

But from what I have seen the "new" Ranger won't be the smaller truck we lost in 2012.

I'm and have been aware of the T6 since it's inception and wouldn't mind owning one if they were available here. Wouldn't want a diesel, not really crazy about a 2.5l 4cyl but perhaps we'd get different engine choices here. I'd drive this with a V6 or small V8:

Why not just go with F-150 extended cab?

Not really seeing much of a difference.

Explorer sports trac was crew cab version.

I would just like to see smaller version, they don't even have to call it a Ranger, lol

I like the looks of the t6 over either one of those plus it is smaller even if not by much.

Ford has sold about 70,000+ F150's to this date. 30,000 more that Chevy has for their Silverado.

Why in the world would they want to bring a compact truck back.

I wish these stories would just die.

I like to park a vehicle inside the garage when I have both...but I can see needing to build a semi type garage for the new ones...

It looks like my gf's Edge... but with cutdown body... and a hilux box.

Its neither here nor there for me, I have all the Rangers I need.
