Is the 2.8 a pushrod engine?

Anything is possible with enough time and money thrown at it. Worth the effort is a whole nother story.

I know it wasn't asked, but it would be cheaper and easier to swap in a 4.6 dohc. Even if you paid someone else to do it for you it would be cheaper.

Yes, you would have to modify the block. There are 12 holes in the block where the lifters go. How are you going to add 12 more lifters without modifying the block?

you don't have to add anything to the block, the question was can a 24 valve head be custom made for this block... of course, if you're going to make custom heads, it's quite simple to make some custom rockers that accept one pushrod, but work 2 valves... again, is it going to be ridiculous and not worth the time, but it could be done!

BINGO!

Interesting web site. A rebuilt engine for only $8287.70 - but not sure how much the taxes would be.

Note that the British have many restrictions on their vehicles, so a few extra bucks on a small engine is the best way to go sometimes.

Gee, I wonder if we could get more power with that much money here in the USA - or Canada.

lol 8 grand is a lot for a rebuilt motor. You can buy a ford focus rebuilt motor for 500, not sure on their definition of 'rebuilt' though. I was talking about the 2.8 to 3.5 stroker kit on their website.

Rockers wouldn't necessarily even have to be custom rockers. The Honda XL engine uses exactly that setup. You'd probably need them from an early engine though. There were some unusual angle on the RFVC engines.

The heads would definitely be very custom though...

Are you talking about the Honda XL bikes? If so it's highly doubtful that those could be made to work if for no other reason than spacing of parts.

You would end up with a head that's like twice as long wouldn't you?:icon_twisted:
