me an my dad has put about 500.00 into my truck together..A its broke again an i am wondering if my truck is worth spending more money on. we redun the front brakes, sus, gas lines,o-ring on gas tank, battery, spark plugs, distrbuator cap, trans pan gasket an tran filiter, I had a friend re do some major rust on the bed an re paint my brush guard twice an front bumper an re paint my wheels all that would total out to about 500.00 would yall think it would be worth it to fix it or part it out an buy something else?

What is wrong with it?

A window that won't roll up is a little different than a rod hanging out of the block.

Well, so far all I see on that list is basic maintenance items for a 25 year old truck. I see nothing major except maybe the rust repairs (depending on extent). I sell twice that amount in BASIC MAINTENANCE on vehicles less than half that age at least once a week.

If the engine is running strong and the trans shifts firm and doesn't slip, your floor boards aren't falling through, and the rear ain't noisy, keep it and keep her going. Eventually, if you keep fixing the little things, she will be like a new truck.

Heck, I just wrote out a check for $900 for parts for my truck today.

The engine runs very strong its the trans thats a big problem. i reve to get it into first the rearend pops an bounces but when i get it going it shifts fine but thats after i switch to second on the floor shift.. everything is good on the truck but the trans currently.. I know my engine is strong because i bumper pulled close to 1 thousand pounds of scrap medal about 14 miles to the recycler with no problems, the trans blew here reasonly.. I dont wanna get rid the truck because my grandfather bought it for me for 600.00 bucks an handed me the keys an said its your keep care of it.. its a keeper if its running or not..

ill go broke before i cant drive my ranger, its been the best fn truck my family has ever invested in... hell my dad had an 88 2.0 5speed that my brother floped on the drivers side, we pushed er on its wheels checked the oil and drove it for 4 more years till my dumbass brother traded it for a 98 2.5l that he totaled when a car t-boned him
