I have a 2004 Ranger supercab that has shift on the fly 4x4, power everything, 4.0L, auto, skid plates, the Pioneer premium sound package and different guages than the stock ones... but it doesn't have the stickers or anything saying "FX4". I was wondering if it's anywhere in the VIN number? any help would be appreciated, i'm trying to sell it before i get outta the military and any help would be greatly appreciated!

If its a 5speed it would have the chrome shifter and 8ball style knob. thats one way to know. it would have 3 skid plates. front diff, t case, and gas tank. the vin number also denotes the fx4 option. you may just have a sport 4x4 optioned up.

...

well it has all of those skid plates and it's an automatic. where in the vin does it say that it's an FX4?

the vin doesnt say.

if its an FX4 it would have large, red, "FX4" stickers on the rear quarter panels.
