This just started recently. Whenever the compressor engages it doesn't work very well. It actually strains the engine now and loses power when it engages. It also makes an awful repetitive noise, much like the normal click but louder and lower in pitch.
I know the system needs to be recharged though because it stopped blowing cold air almost a month ago.
I'm just wondering if I need a whole new compressor or if it's fixable. It's on a 94 4.0 Ranger extended cab 4x4 and it's the factory compressor.
