Got a quick question and looking for a quick answer as I have to make a decision by the end of the week. I currently own a 1996 ranger 4X4 ex cab 4.0. I have a guy that want's to sell me two '89 ranger 4x4's. I don't know yet what size they are, I know one of them used to run before he parked it last year. I'm just wondering if it would be worth my investment in trying to purchase both of these vehicles to swap out parts with on my '96... or am I wasting my time. He is asking $500 for both of them...

If you can put together one 89 out of the two that would be the Q for me. Are you saying swap the 4.0 into the 89 yes maybe but not the other way. Just my .02 cents

much less than 500 bucks worth of parts (that you will have to replace anyways) will be usable on your 96... like kimcrwbr1 says, if you can get a good working 89 out of the two, might be worth it. if not, I would pass them up.

Long time no comment... ended up passing them up... thanks for the reply's. Ended up rebuilding the transmission and clutch in my 96. Hopefully done with it soon...
