Did Ford ever make an exteded cab/super cab Ranger with the 2.3L/D 5-speed in it? Been trying to find one but I can't seem to. Particularly interested in 2001 or newer trucks. Anyone got any insight?

Yes, but only the 2 door supercab, not the 4 door. They're not very common though, and probably even less common with a 5 speed.

I know that they did make a ext. cab, 2.3L, 5-speed because I had one, but it was a generation 1. It was one of the best trucks I ever had, my younger brother has it now.

Bummer. I was really hoping not to have to break down and go with the 4.0 or the gas hogging powerless 3.0 to get the 2001+ body and 4 door feature that i am looking for... o well...

gas hogging powerless 3.0? my 3.0 5 speed is not as bad as you guys make them out to be. I can EASILY smoke a 4.3 s-10 while getting 20 mpg, which isn't to bad compared to any other 3.0 out there. my brother has a v-6 toyota. I can pull his truck around any day. Give the trusty 3.0 a break! its a good little motor
