Is it possible

Wheel adapters, but they're not exactly cheap. If you got the wheels for free, just sell them and pocket the money.

i did not mention those because i am a very firm believer in thier dangerousness. i know someone whose friend had a pair and he was driving on the road, down a long straight hill. my friend was following him. wheel adaptor broke. 36" tire passed the jeep that it was on and smashed into an ambulance that was coming up the hill on its way to a call. he got sued hardcore and no longer has the jeep.

alright sounds good, i also have a scout dana 44 that i might swap in there, that would solve the rear but its the front that i cant figure out. Are the 44s stronger than an 8.8?

well i have some adapters on my ranger and ive driven to Oklahoma from san diego round trip twice and never had a problem. just re-torque them every 6 month and ur good. im currently running 33x12.50 15s but during one trip i was running 35s. make sure you get the good set of adapter(spidertrax) and not the ones where the lug nut goes all the way through and bolts onto the wheel.

8.8 is stronger than a d44. the shafts are as big as d60 shafts. i dont understand why your asking this though cause there is no such thing as a front 8.8.

yes there is. not sure if its the current model or the previous model but there is an 8.8 front used in the Super Duty.

what? i thought all those front ends were D50 or D60 if solid axle and D50 TTB. i have never heard of an 8.8 front end. where did you hear/learn this?

The crappy torsion bar 1/2 ton Fords have 8.8 front ends. The original poster said his truck is 2wd. That is a d-44 REAR end that he is talking about. There is very little difference in strength between a Ranger 8.8 and a d-44 rear end. Only the 31 spline 8.8 would be stronger.
If that d-44 has the two piece axles in the rear(little sheet metal cap in the middle of the wheel flange) stay away from it!!!! If it where something you absolutely had to have, you can get better axles.
Ford 9" from an E.B. would be a better way to get 5X5.5 bolt pattern. They come 28 spline as well but, 31 and 35 spline axles are readily available and reasonably priced.

ok so that just refers to the guts of the front end. i thought he meant a real axle. (IFS doesnt even come close to qualifying. TTB is a gray area.)

that also means that no superdutys used 8.8s.
