Being in southern wisconsin there are no offroad parks to got to, and Im itchin, but driving down a parkway yesterday I saw a dirt road along side of high voltage lines, there were no signs that said DO NOT ENTER, no fence or gate gaurding it. When I went home I went on google earth and looked at it its staright but goes on for a long time, looks promising for a quick run to scratch with, but IS IT ILLEGAL?

Do you own the property? is your name on the deed? do you pay taxes on said land? do you insure said land?

All kidding aside, you would be TECHNICALLY trespassing and could be asked to leave if caught, that being said it's up to you to chance it or not, I am sure others will chime in.:icon_thumby:

I don't know about where you are & I of course can't justify advocating anything illegal, all I can say is we used to wheel the power lines down here every weekend until they bulldozed all the land & built a subdivision...:icon_confused:

I know what I would do....that's all I will say! :stirthepot:

go grab a plat book an see whos land it is if its public go to town i wouldnt imagaine the power company would care unless you smoked a pole...then they just might.

we wheel my powerlines all the time up here and when you go theres always 2 or 3 more people up there

Long as there aren't any "No Trespassing" or "Do Not Enter" signs, you should be alright. So long as you aren't doing any damage to property, there should be no problem.

We wheeled the power lines where I went to college, even talked to the DNR about it. They said they didn't care as long as we weren't causing problems.

Alot of places DO care though.

I'd ask around a little more first.

I'm sorry what!?!?!:icon_rofl:

Haha, all nasty jokes aside I go up power line trails all the time one my dirtbike and truck but you should even just phone up the power company and see what they say.

hmm pehaps a poor choice of wording:icon_rofl: but funny nonetheless

One thing to remember...

Power companies often DO NOT own that land but have a "right of way" to access.

one of my less than immediate neighbors gets irritated with snowmobilers
and ATV riders that think because they are following the power lines
they are tresspassing on power company land, not so....

dude for real all they are going to do is ask you to leave and probably not come back, but thats if they catch you. you really wont get in trouble. just GO. dirt roads and shut down construction sites is where i do must of my wheelin

You won't get into trouble as long there is no sign that your not suppose to be there and not doing anything stupid to endanger your self or anybody else and causing problems...I hunt the power lines all the time ,cops and rangers ride right past me with no problems aslong as your not asking for problems ...

Darren likes to smoke poles... oh wait, wrong forum for that joke!

I'm goin tonight...hypothetically, I would've gone even if it was illegal, hypothetically speaking of coarse
