Intermittent Wiper Trouble

Hi guys, bit of a problem here. I have a 2000 Ford Ranger, and the intermittent wipers do not work. The wipers work on high speed and low speed and do not park when turned off. The washers work as well, and the wipers run a bit too long (I think) after letting go of the washer button, then they park about mid-way down the windshield. I have cleaned the multi-function switch as recommended, and have swapped the #1 and #3 relays in the Power Distribution Box to no avail. All fuses are good. Does this sound like the GEM module or the wiper motor? I find it very strange they won't park when turned on, but will eventually stop in the middle of the windshield when the washer button is pressed. Is there any way they could just be in the wrong position? Thanks in advance!

Think I found the problem. Relays would click when turning on wipers. Cleaned out switch was functioning perfectly. High and low would work, so I didn't suspect the GEM. Tore into the wiper motor cover to attempt to bend the electrical prongs back in case they were not making good contact. Shockingly, I didn't see any metal conductive disc on the cog wheel or any prongs on the cover to touch it...almost like the thing had exploded inside. Oh well. Guess I'm replacing the wiper motor...it would have been nice to not have to take off the wiper arm and stuff...oh well...
