New here, havent worked on the 3.0 much, so please excuse any lack of engine specific knowledge.

(sorry so long. for the short version just jump to the last paragraph)

Got lost in the woods on some nasty trails for about 2 hours of crawling. The truck got me to the highway. I pulled over right after I hit pavement to check the damage. Got back in, started her up and accelerated hard onto the highway. At 50mph it felt like it topped out and didnt wanna shift, then squeaks and rattles from under the hood and lights on the dash. turned it off. tried restarting, squeaks and bad noises, the voltage showed that it was low. I figured that the engine had ate so much dirt that the accessories and pulleys were seizing up, specifically the alternater. had it towed to town 110miles away.

Hosed the engine off. it was covered in dirt (we havent had rain in like 80 days here). I fixed my oil pressure gauge (jittery oil pressure guage flipped over to the other side, so I just flipped the needle back to the correct side.) started the engine and there was oil pressure :headbang: it ran pretty good. Went for a test drive. made it like 15 houses down when the oil pressure slammed to zero and the lifters immediately started rattling. turned it off, pushed it home.

The oil pressure seemed to be fine, then it dissapears :dunno: pulled the camshaft syncronizer. gear looked perfect and the hole in the end for the oil pump shaft looked fine. looked in the block, shaft looks ok, cam gear looks ok... so what now? pull the pan? clogged or broken pump? :icon_confused:
I ran the truck for probably a total of 5 minutes with probably no oil pressure :shok: is the engine shot anyways?

Thanks

I know its probably a hard question to answer, but does anyone have any ideas?

You won't know if you did any damage until you compression test it.
I would suspect the pump though. So start by pulling the pan, gonna have to anyway to check the screen and replace the pump.

As far as things bogging down, the engine could've been starting to seize up due to lack of oil.
