Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum and have a question. I've owned my 88' ranger 2.9 for about 8 years and I have always noticed a little low frequency chattering when accelerating in 3rd gear but much more in 4th. I recently replaced my clutch because it was a slipping and I also rebuilt the tranny (mazda 5 speed) because it was getting hard to get into the gears (276,000 miles). But now that it's all done, this low frequency chatter is a lot more intense. It happeneds while accelerating in 3rd and 4th while under 2,300 rpms. When It gets above that rpm range, it goes away. Could this have something to do with the differential? And suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
