I took the top intake manifold off my 86 ford ranger and would like to know how to clean it. I see crap inside the manifold but can i just put carb cleaner all over it? Any tips are appreciated. thanks:headbang:

It's off the vehicle?

You can blast B-12 through there, sure. I prefer brake cleaner, but it will work.

As long as it's not installed (you don't want to wash the crap into the valves). It's good practice to remove any rubber parts and the air bypass and EGR valves first. Perhaps the air temp sensor.

If the EGR port is plugged with crap, you'll need more than carb cleaner. You'll have to chip it out with something.
