Sorry didnt mean to hijack your thread lol

that's ok just wanted to pass the info on about the insurance in the commonwelth of pennsyvina. just in case others needed to know .. you can bet i'll be changing my deductable to $00000000 soon

since the estiment was for $1800.00 and i can get the parts for $650.00.
looking at my $500.00 deductable, i'm thinkin about just saying forget it and just doing the work myself

Personally I would save myself $150 and have it professionally fixed, so it would last longer once it was finally mine... and if I didn't like how it was done I could take it back and make them do it right.

update: i ordered my hood today $250.00 out the door with tax, i got a pair of free hood hinges from a friend that works in a auto wrecking yard. a buddy from high school days gave me some fiberglass to repair the header panel and told me he'd help repair it for a couple beers. so now all i have to get is the grill. i got 2 rattle cans of ford paint for the top side of the hood and plan on just using bed liner spray under the hood. now i need the adjustment screws for the headlight and the dealer can't find any

gee i like it when friends fianilly help out when needed..lol:icon_thumby:

My brother was paid to get his truck fixed by the insurance company following a deer accident. He only got a few hundred though, not the full amount.

When I hit a deer I had to pay for $500 (my deductable) and the ins payed for everything else.

I had a claim last year when someone decided they could make it across the road before I hit them...the insurance company paid me to fix it myself, but less for labour than the body shop would have charged...I'm getting the parts for $200 (still haven't fixed it) and doing the work myself...but there is some "hidden" damage that I don't think they accounted for, and I had to replace my front tires due to the alignment going out...and the rad sprung a leak on the transmission line and I could have lost my tranny if I hadn't caught it in time...

So, to summarize, make sure you get everything to your satisfaction...not sure what your insurance will cover if you discover something after you replace parts (like alignment that can go out from a front impact) because that can add up pretty quick.

thanks for the advice. i had 2 estiments done and i'm working off those. what i'm finding is they accounted for a boat load of labor for nickpicking scratches that i i could care less about and i talked directly with the rep from the bank and they are siding with me on part of the repairs being overkill.
i'll start a thred on the prossess of the repairs when i get started i should be getting my hood later today and my hinges are here getting powercoated at votech by my little step brother today at class.
