Instrument Cluster Swap

I recently swapped my non-tach instrument cluster in my '99 2wd 3.0 for one from a '96 explorer 5.0 limited. I was worried that the tach waould be a little off since it was from a v-8, but it worked great. However, the temp guage and speedometer would not work at all. I opened the cluster and replaced them both with the ones from my old cluster, and the temp guage still doesnt move at all and the speedometer seems off and goes out intermittently.

Has anyone else done a similar swap with results like this? I think maybe there are resistors in line with the circuit board, but I have not been able to find any info on the rundown on these clusters.

the circuit board on the flip side may be different of the cluster..i threw in a b4000 cluster and everything works great; however, ford changed some of the layout in the gauge faces :icon_cheers:

i just found one from a 99 explorer, plug and play
