i have a 1993 ford ranger stx ext cab 4x4, i recently replaced the tranny, clutch, slave cylinder, release bearing. but my tranny is making alot of noise in gear or with the truck in neutral and the clutch out. is that the bad input shaft bearing? how hard is it too change? and is it an external input shaft bearing? i can remve the tranny in less then an hour and if i can do it myself for just the price of the bearing im goin to do it. plz help

That does sound like an input bearing but I would wait for a second opinion from AllenD as he is the authority on M5ODs around here.

Speaking of which.......where is AllanD? He hasn't posted anything in over a week.

I agree with Metalmacguyver. By description, it sounds like a bad input bearing.
