Input needed for BDS Suspension lift for 98+ rangers!

just got off the phone with BDS. its as i thought it would be. they are going by the 90/10 rule 90% say they will buy it but 10% do buy it. it is to small of a market for them to throw $100,000 into development for it and than not get the money back plus some in the time they need it. they said they can not promise anything but they will think about throwing it on the table as a idea. i will continue to see what can be done and with other companies as well. They did say that they agree with the superlift being a kinda dumb lift as all it does is drop the t-bars so maybe there is hope with BDS still but more so in the future.

I'll agree with you Charles. There needs to be more options... I'd love to see a 6" coilover kit for a decent price. I don't want drop brackets. I want more ground clearance from the front end because 90% of the reason I get stuck is because the front crossmember.

so, we all know the likelihood of BDS developing a full lift kit is slim to none, since like stated above, so many say they will buy now, but if the product comes, they wont.

so, how about a simply coilover conversion kit only. no lift, just brackets and whatever else is needed to convert torsion bar trucks to coilovers?

would be incredibly cheaper to not only develop, but sell.

they could sell it as just the brackets with no shocks, or brackets and shocks.

id love to go that route and would rather that than a full out lift to be honest.

This timing couldn't be more perfect. I've wanted a legit lift for my 04 for some time now, I've been workin on gettin everythin together for a SAS because I refuse to spend the sheer amount that superlift is charging and the long travel isn't any easier on my wallet. Unfortunately due to lack of experience, tools and a place to do it i'm kinda up shit creek. I am active duty military who has to live in the barracks, so a SAS on a daily driver isnt really feasable so a 4-6" coilover lift would be perfect providing the price isn't up in superlift range. Regardless, if BDS did come out with this lift they would have atleast one sold for sure!

i have pretty much blue prints of an older coilover conversion that ORW made just dont have anyone to fab them and make them for sale.

will do. i also have a friend at king offroad shocks and i am sure the kit could add king coilovers to it pretty easily.

Oh for sure.

I know lots of guys making stuff for raptors, so I could probably get some good deals on shocks and what not.

If my 99 didnt allready have a lift id be looking for 1 but yeah there needs to be something done

I'm up to see new suspension systems from BDS. Im a fan of the superlifts but in my current truck thats a no-go. 4 inch coil-overs is a great idea!

Not interested in lifts but would want a better suspension, Maybe specific for different uses. How about a suspension that was easily rebuildable or better designed than stock. One thing about a lift for me would be to keep the rake of the truck.

BDS wants all of you members to talk about wanting a new lift made here. they want to know what you guys and gals want like just a reg lift or do we want a 4 inch coilover lift or ect ect. They have posted again on facebook asking for this. If we can chat about it enough for a want or need in the market to show them we mean it. I than can call up Glen the head R&D guy at BDS and send him the link to the forum and chat more about this. I am always hearing everone complaining about not wanting a superlift and there isnt enough options. Well this is the chance to voice that chatter right here. I mean come on a 4 to 5 inch to maybe 6 inch coilover lift kit would be darn nice for alot of people who do not want or have the know how or place to throw a solid axle under there ranger or do a camburg long travel kit. Both those options can cost in the thousands to do it right and some people dont have that money or the time.

id say a regular 4-6" lift would be awesome. one that wouldnt require any custom welding and fab like the coil over kits. theres alot of people on here that dont have access to all the specific tools and im sure it would be nice to get a kit a little better engineered then the superlifts which i here have some issues with brackets breaking and what not. any way thats just my two cents
