hello a growl when clutch engaged and the transmission is hot, lead me to pull transmission. upon removal the input bearing was "stuck" on the input shaft. it was cut off with a die grinder but that spot seems to catch the input bearing when i test fit it. it is about an inch down the input shaft. what are my fixes?

also would i have any problems putting a 1999 3.0 4x2 transmission in a 1993?

are we talking about an M5OD? its a press fit bearing

you can gently hammer it in with a brass punch on the INNER race

it came out on the input shaft.

what are you talking about.

im saying when you replace the bearing, you need to press it off and press the new one back on

i was not there when the trans was removed my buddy did it he said it was gull welded or tweeked the the input shaft. if i understand you correct it is actually pressed on the shaft and not pressed in the engine
