Another question. How well will a 2.9L run by just swapping the injectors to the 19lb 5.0 ones? Is there anything else i'd require in doing this? Any other engine mods required first?

I would like to know this too.

Hello

Are the injectors the same color? If so yes they should work. They must be the same size also.

it's posted as a possible swap on the tech page. i just don't know it maybe that'd be too much fuel with a stock motor? or no?

unless you plan to substantially increase the displacement of your motor, add nitrous, or some sort of boost, all the fatter injectors are going to do is remove more money from your wallet and make the engine run like $hit.

It will run like shit, especially on the stock MAP/SD computer. LOL, shoving gas down your engine's throat is certainly not going to help things. The PCM doesn't know that the flow rating is higher for the injectors and tries to make it's adjustments based on 14lbs.

Only way I got it to somewhat work is with a MAF conversion and using an IST MAF air adjuster for fooling the PCM. End result was an engine that ran really rich at idle, but it really did help at WOT (I got pretty lean w/ 14lbs), but I also have a high lift cam and other mods done. I am running stock injectors now (for a year maybe?), can't get what I want out of the 2.9L, working on 5.0L swap. Just been driving it and keep up on maintance...

Best bet would be to retro fit some sort of S/C or turbo setup. Possible, but no kits avail.

I agree, for the 19lb'ers to run at the correct a/f mixture, your engine
would need to REQUIRE tthe extra fuel--- and your speed-density injection
system is unable to compensate.

I changed to 19 lbs, but the heads are ported, tubular headers, cam,
flat-back stainless valves, MAF conversion with IST Adjuster.
It flows a greater amount of air, so it requires more fuel than the 14lb'ers
can provide............and I still get 24mpg.
