I have a 3.0 ranger that has been swapped and I've run into a problem. Well I've tested my injectors and they work but they don't on the truck wiring, I'm getting 12 volts on a red wire, I assume the other ones are for ground on the pcm, if I'm correct, can someone tell me how I can fix this.

What do you mean when you say it's been "swapped"? When the injectors are installed in the engine, are you getting any fuel through at all, or not?

A newer 3.0 engine swap, and no I'm not getting any, the truck ran fine for days but then stopped working.

I guess what I was looking for were specific details about the year of your truck, the year of the engine, was either engine flex fuel, etc. It's possible your problem is related to hardware not working together due to a difference in compatability. But, if it worked well for a brief time, that seems unlikely.

Check your fuel pressure at the rail. If your injectors are working, and they're getting 12 volts, it sounds like they're not getting fuel

I just found your other thread. It looks like you put a regular fuel 3.0 from an 01 Ranger into a 99 Flex Fuel Ranger.

For this to run correctly, you'll need to keep all of the flex fuel stuff together, so the Flex fuel sensor, the Flex fuel PCM, and the Flex fuel injectors must all be used, even if you're not planning on using the flex fuel capabilities. Is everything currently installed on the truck flex fuel stuff?

Somewhere you mentioned swapping the PCMs. If that's true, and you're using the PCM that didn't come with the vehicle you might be running into a PATS issue.

actually no I don't have it all together, all I have is just the flex fuel sensor and the PCM for the truck, id need to order new flex fuel injectors, I actually believe this might work and I'm not questioning what you have said but can you explain why the regular injectors wouldn't work even with a non flex fuel PCM? Is it because of the sensor that is still on there?

In some cases you can get away with using regular fuel injectors with the regular fuel PCM. In your case however there may be a problem. The problem that you're likely to encounter if you try and use the regular fuel PCM from 01 is that it has PATS, which is a system Ford used to keep the vehicles from being started without a matching key. The way PATS works, the ignition key has a tiny transmitter that is unique to your vehicle. There is a module in the steering column that reads the transmitter, and the PCM also has to be coded to match the steering column module and the ignition key. If you don't have all 3, the vehicle won't start. So, if you don't have a module, key and PCM that match, you'll have problems.

You can have the PATS reset by a dealer, or you can buy an aftermarket tuner that deletes the PATS from the system. Both options will cost a few hundred $$. The other suggestion would be to return everything back to flex fuel parts using your stock flex fuel PCM (that should match your original key) and see if it fixes your problem. If you go this route, you'll need to use the higher flowing flex fuel injectors or it won't run right.
