Hey fellas, I replaced injectors in my employee's 2007 3.0 Ford Ranger today. He had taken it to a shop and was told #6 injector was bad so I replaced all of them in hopes to prevent further issues with it. Well this little job has bite me in the butt! The truck runs rougher now then been before! I'm totally lost on this

Hopefully you didn't throw the factory injectors out.

Aftermarket injectors are a complete crap shoot. Most are junk right out of the box.

Did you order the cheapest on eBay/Amazon?

You will find a number of folks here that say the aftermarket is crap... the pros (or at least the poor suckers who learned from doing it wrong once) send em off to a place to refurbish, OR go to the junkyard and get a spare set and then send off only the absolute worst to get R&R.

If you have the original Ford (?Bosch?) injectors put all of em back that didn't NEED to be replaced, and then figure out if any of your new ones will work in the missing hole.

I’m scooting this over to the 3.0 forum where it belongs…

well. injectors can really be an issue aftermarket. straight fact.

that said.

FIRST.

make sure you didnt fawk up. it is absolutely possible the o rings are leaking ect..... if some of the brittle ass vacuum lines were popped off....or cracked or not replaced in the right spots ect....your gonna have issues. make damn sure your work is solid and there are zero vacuum issues.

Thank you guys. I just told my employee before I read this that we are putting the factory ones back in to see if that clears it up.

I purchased them from O'Reilly so I'm sure they're crap!

So does Model-Year 2007 mean that it's NOT Flex-Fuel? (Ye Olde 'V' vs 'U' in the middle of the VIN...) Was that only 1998-2000?

No particular insight on injectors, but in general, NAPA has better quality on such "workhorse" parts. Just curious, what does Ford Dealer want for OEM injectors?

I put the old injectors back in and that cleared up the rough idle. I went and purchased a TPS and that cleared the engine light! Thank God! I want to thank all of you for your input
