Information from Ford??

Some time ago I remember a thread being created which detailed a way in which you could get the build specifications of your vehicle from Ford. If I remember correctly the thread contained a link to a form you could fill out and request the specs.

Does anyone remember any details about the thread? I've been searching unsuccessfully for a couple of weeks now. The process has been made more difficult by the fact that i don't remember any specific wording or the title of the thread.

I'm fairly sure in the Ford parts lookup you can also bring up vehicle details. Give the parts person at your dealer the last 8 and they may be able to look it up. I did it on on my truck which started life as an XL with the XLT 'stripe package" and a mazda M5R2 which was/is a head scratcher.
