Hello all. This is my first post so go easy on me.
I have a problem with my 99 Ranger.I am running a 4.0 with the automatic and was hoping the wisdom of this board could help.
For a few days the truck has been hard starting. When it does start it blows a bit of white-ish smoke.
Not pure white like a really blown head gasket but like on a cold morning.Only it isn't cold.
After a few minutes it clears up and doesn't appear while the vehicle is running.
Also the engine feels sluggish in OD.Not in any of the low gears, just above 65 or so,in which it runs, but has a stumble.
I was low on coolant, but I had no evidence of water in my oil when I changed it yesterday.
When the coolant was low it sometimes produced a strong coolant smell in the cab, while running the AC.
Sorry for the post being so long but TRS was the place I thought of first when I was looking for help for this problem.
