Hey everyone, Im new to the forums. Im a contributer over at R-F though. some guys told me that i could get some good info over here. Well ill get to it then.

My truck is getting a face lift that includes 6in sl and a 4 in bl. 35" BFG MT's. But its got 3.73 gears. I know i have to change the gears, but heres my dilema. do i go with 4.56 or 4.88? the truck is my dd, but i use it for hunting, mudding, general offroading, etc. basically, everything but rock crawling.. please help..money isnt really an issue

Welcome to the forum.

after doing the math, 4.10/31"s, 4.56/33"s , and 4.88/35"s are all quite close to maintaining your original final ratio. your speedometer wont be far off at all.

go with 4.88s.

+1 on the 4.88s. Also BTW, i wouldn't go any higher than 3" on the BL. Any higher than 3" and it puts a lot of strain on the body mounts and bolts.

Here is a nice place to get gears and such. And the online support is killer!

I'd go with 5.13s with 35s but 4.88s wouldn't be bad.

If it's the '00 in his profile, no 5.13 available for the SLA frontend.

4.88 is fine with a 4.0L though.

Is it a manual or auto? I have the 4.0L auto with 35's and just got some 4.88's. because of the slip in an auto i think the 4.88's are a little too high. for a manual they may be perfect though. on the highway im doin like 2850 rpm goin like 70pmh.
