That's the same mount that I have...for cell phones, Ipods and cameras. I bought it on Ebay last year. There are a bunch of mounts to use like this...some smaller as well. I have one for my roof rack as well.

How often are you using that? Autocrossers & desert racers do it all the time. Rockcrawling sometimes.

What do YOU use it for? Please don't tell me street racing.

I hope that I can catch a crazy person driving stupid so I can post it on Youtube with his tag number....lol Actually..... I use mine for my property to see if something has changed or somebody has been there illegally and I also use it to get video and photos of the wildlife there.

i'm not a policeman, so i dont have a camera in my car.

actually, i have thought of it. maybe a wide angled lens that points to the front and back of your vehicle. then, if you ever had a wreck and someone was trying to pull some b.s., you could just look at your recording

Get some bumper sticker that say:

"Surveillance Equipped"
and the NRA badge of Honor!:icon_cheers:

Man, I wish I'd had one of those in the truck tonight. I was 2 cars behind some idiot who crossed over into an oncoming lane of an undivided highway near a blind corner and plowed into an oncoming vehicle.

I pulled off right away and his driver's front wheel ended up behind me.

intense.

Last time I was that scared behind the wheel I was in my Olds, hit the brakes on a wet day, and ended up facing North in a Southbound lane of a major highway with 5 minutes to rush hour right after getting cut off. And I was much less experienced.

Imagin some cop trying to BS a ticket onto you and you had VIDEO to prove otherwise....

I just ordered one of these:
http://www.buy.com/pr/product.aspx?sku=217591786

to mount my little video camera to - the camera is about the size and shape of a cell phone. Gonna use it in a few weeks in the desert. if it doesn't work well i'm out 10 bucks and i can pawn it off on someone else

That came out pretty darn good, Bro. I already have used mine to get out of a traffic ticket last week. A lady sheriff pulled me over after I stopped for a red light and then turned right. I am at that intersection almost every day I go grocery shopping or run to the car wash in that direction. The lady cop was very nice looking and she was very polite to me as well. She wanted to know if I knew I went through a red light...I told her the light turned green as I was waiting for it. She said she has a dash camera and I pointed out to my camera mounted on my windshield....she was startled to see it and I removed my JVC HD 1020 camera and played back the video and she said....'Have a nice day and I am sorry I was wrong about stopping you'!!! I told her thanks for protecting our community and you are very well respected...so no hard feelings about the stop. You just gotta be nice to our cops.....

i agree....but sometimes they'll be assholes even though you're being nice.

i pretty much took a cop car apart to change his headlight while i was working at autozone, it was 10pm, 25 degree's outside. took me 10 minutes to get it in...... he just got in turned on the lights and drove off
