hey, has anybody smoked out there amber blinkers and the lights along side the headlights, and taillights on a 2gen ranger? im thinking about doing that because im going for the dark-green and black look. nooo shiny stuff besides the paint.

the top lights are now black also with covers...

Go for it! The night shade paint is pretty damn good when doing the lights. Just make sure you clean them up good before you paint, a buddy of mine didnt and the bubbled a little

We all have different tastes, I personally wouldn't do it because I off-road and I like to be able to clearly see where I'm going.

My truck's lenses were all smoked when I got the truck, spent about an hour total on all the lenses, getting the paint off. It was a huge PITA.

Are covers available for your style lights? I'd do that if I really wanted to smoke them and not ruin the actual lenses.

For the turn signals, I've seen a guy put a skinny piece of tape in the middle of it and paint it black then it was just a little orange strip. It looked pretty sweet. I looked for the picture but I couldn't find it.

oh, and im kinda wondering, how common is that tail gate? i havent seen many that look like that without either the holes or the cover on the 2ng gens

no, that looks like nightshade, though 99% of the time people use it it looks like they put it on with a roller... just a heads up, a lot of jurisdictions consider painting tail lights illegal, and i know where i live, if you are rearended, and have blacked out tail lights, you can be found at fault and criminally liable for the accident... all they have to say is "i didn't see their brake lights come on as they have been painted black"

it is illegal, i have since gotten new taillights and only did 2 coats instead of 6.... but in minn. no matter how you get into a accident, your vehicle mods dont matter if you are not at fault. and thanks for the compliments guys..

oh and i did use that nightshade crap

but if your mods are deemed to be the cause of the accident, you will be at fault...
