I'm sure I got a short.

so...the red green stripe wire on the coil side has power?

Okay I'm kind of following what you're saying.
But I need to know where to find all those wires.
Are you talking about the wiring harness from the I C.M.?

look at the wiring diagrams that were posted on page 1.

find the ignition control module pin 8. and work your way back from there.....find the eec relay and those are the wires i listed... the relays may be out or in the box. i would have to see your actual wiring.

index.php

this is the ignition control module.

pretty simple.....power is pin 8 and ground is pin 9

the upper left says pcm power relay. follow the flow from there

I think I'm starting to understand a little more.
Looking at the page you said start at the upper left hand corner and find pcm relay and follow from there.
So under the pcm is the icm with a little 8 in the middle of it.
Does the little 8 stand for wire 8 on the icm plug?

yes
its just that the ignition module is on the other page.

so you need to make sure the wire has continuity...you say there is no key power but if the pump runs we know some is getting through the relay...so that particular branch is likely the issue.

But as I said earlier I only remember hearing the fuel pump come on once. But I've also not been paying it close attention.

well....the relay clicks when the key is on. so start with the eec relay.

So the wiring going to the icm from the pcm splits as well at the pcm and goes to the right to a point where it then becomes 7 other wires. Is that right?

hook everything up. turn key on.

put the probe clamp on the battery ground....check the yellow and the red for power. make sure both reds are on the connector.

then see if pin 8 on the ignition control module has power if everything is good at the eec relay.

there are wires all over.

you tested the crank sensor....but first i test to make sure the crank wires have continuity.....good sensor with a bad wire means no function.

the crank sensor is what fires the module. they said it tested good...so we will assume it is.

it needs power.....ground andcrank signal to operate the coil pak.

the coil pack needs power...and gets fired by abc..... or 10 11 12 pins.

Bobby I truly do appreciate the help. But you're going too fast for me I have dyslexia and can't read very well. By the time I'm trying to write something you're already onto something else. Please slow down. Give me time to reply and then right back thank you.

aye.

how far are you from the truck?

says your in dayton..... i was in talmadge....i am in fresno now.

no where near dayton though. real busy tomorrow....

might be easier to walk through it on a phone
