i got a 94 ford ranger ext cab 4x4 with a 4.0L 5spd. i have a dana 35 front and 8.8 rear,completly stock with 3:27 gears (hate them)

i heard about explorer rear leaf and front f-150 spacers how much lift would that make?

i do not want the front wheel looking like /-\ or \-/ i want them strait |-|

i do lot of 4x4 and want to fit 31" with 15x8 offset wheels, maybe 33" later if it fits

bacicly want a cheap, tough and road drivable suspension for everyday driving

well, anything over 2 inches your going to need drop brackets. youll only get maybe 2 from the springs and spacers. your best bet may be trying to find a used 4" kit on here or some other forum. but since you do alot of wheeling and your running the d35 keep more of an eye out for a duff or skyjacker kit to keep your 35 from hitting the pass. side beam drop plate bracket.

yes 31's fit stock with little to no rubbing.. i have pretty much the same truck as you and i've put 91'-92' explorer rims and 31" all terrains on my truck for the winter of 08/09. the early 90's exploder had automatic hub also, so does our trucks.. i have pics if your interested.

but to half ass answer your question, putting explorer leaf springs will lift it 2 inches i believe. there is a kid over on ranger-forums.com that has an exploder rear end in his 94 ranger and he said it lifted it like 2". not sure about the front.

Just get some coil spacers or leveling coils (2" lift). Any more and it won't align.
That's all you really need, otherwise my truck (stock) had the same specs, and I drove it to work everyday, 65mi round trip.
2" Daystar coil spacers, 31x10.50R15s Cooper STTs on factory FX4 Level II 15x7 Alcoa wheels

$100 suspension, with perfect alignment, and performance like this...

...Damn my truck used to be ugly. Remind me to never pull those pics out again.

It'll also give you a pretty good looking stance too.

I did coil spring spacers in the front and 3" block in the rear for a 3" lift all around and heres how my 2WD looks.

My truck is lifted 10in with the stock driveshafts. Though not a permanent deal, but they work.

Yes, you do have a 2 piece shaft with a carrier barring. I don't know how much but the 2pc shafts don't take much lift before you get vibration issues. 4" lift maybe...

anyone got a pic of them standing next to their lifted 2wd?

Sean, do you have a locker? or did somebody push your 2wd up that snow mound? that's nuts!!! lol.

You can take a torch to the carrier bearing and just toss in a 1 piece. They will last a long time though...... even lifted high running a 2 piece.

You may have to buy a conversion to get the bolt pattern to mate up but it's an easy fix, ask railman, he knows all about that!!

nice to know i almost bought a superlift 6" for 400$ the other day without shocks. i knew there were issues with it if instaled, that why im asking question and the driveshaft was my major concern.
