Ive got a 2001 ranger xlt 4x4 that's completely stock and just about to get some new tires. I want to get some really nasty looking and good functioning off road tires for the snow im getting up her in NYC. Its got 245 57 16s on it now and was wondering how wide and tall I can go. Thanks and I look forward to any advice.

Wrangler Duratrac's - Hands down.

Killer snow traction. I cannot tell that they are considered an all terrain tire and not a dedicated snow tire. We get snow snow snow every year, and I won't run another tire.

You should be able to fit a 31" tire, or metric equivalent. 265/75/16 would be good. You would likely need to turn up your torsion bars a little for that size.

265/75/16 is max without touching the t bars, if you go with 2 inches on the bars you can fit 285/75/16s but they will rub quite a bit
