there are some eibachs for really expensive, and then there are some on Ebay, for a lot cheaper, and claim that they are made of 6061 billet aluminum. would the ebay one be worth buying? is this a trustworthy material?

I have some and they're working fine. Just watch the studs and make sure they don't back out.

You get what you pay for..... Talk to TEE REV, member on the site here and a very good machinist. He made my adapters, and I've run them for over 30k now and they never lose torque on the lugnuts, inners or outers! I check them every oil change, and have never had one come loose.

Last week while I was at the junkyard specifically to disassemble a rear axle
to determine if it had an aftermarket diff in it (I had already removed the
Hurst Billet Plus shifter from the same truck) I found two guys diligently working to remove a set of wheel spacers.

I asked what they were taking and the guy said "wheel spacers"
He said "that's all we are taking, you want the rear?"
I said "Mabey, but I wanna check it out first"

they eventually finished and walked away and I pulled the rear
cover to find a Lockright inside....

I wouldn't run wheel spacers on a bet.

If I wanted to widen the track on a Gen1 or Gen2
Ranger I'd do what I've already done.... swap in a Gen3-up axle.

If I already had a Gen3 and wanted wider I'd either go for the modest
width increase of an Explorer axle OR have custom shafts made to allow
me to use an F-150 axle.

A pair of custom axle shafts really isn't that much more than a pair
of "good" spacers anyway.

Another "sneaky" thing you could do would be to get custom shafts that protrude an additional 3/4" from the bearings (bearings in the same location, but the flange move outwards) this would allow the use of the Mustang SN94 Rear disc brake setup or
the earlier Lincoln Mk7(SVO Mustang) brakes
