If you ever had one of those moments where a little factor made all the difference. I just had one those moments.
Traveling southbound on Sooner Rd. from Lowe's, I get stuck behind a slow cruising police car (40mph in a 45mph). And so everyone else is also traveling the same speed as the police car. We start to apporach SE 59th and Sooner Rd. when out of nowhere a black Ponitac screams through the intersection and plows into the side of a late 80's, early 90's Ford F-150. The police car had a front row seat to this accident as he was barely a car lenghts away. The Ponitac is totaled with the front crushed to the cabin. And the F-150's rear axle got completely torn off. The force was so great, both vehicles cleared the intersection and smashed into the far right lane into another vehicle. And then it hit me, if I was able to do the 45mph speed limit, it could have been me or that police car in a F-150 & Ponitac sandwhich. The only thing that I had to do was brake hard to avoid any other collisions that might occur after the first impact.
As for who is at fault. Most definitely the Ponitac's. They blew threw a solid red light. The Ponitac had to be at least going 40mph and the F-150 was going 20mph on a green light. Sorry, no photos, didn't get enough time to whip out my camera and take a shot. And at the time, taking a photo wasn't on my mind.
