illuminating antenna

last summer when i was working on the farm i was talking to a trucker who came in to take the shipment of trees. and we got talking about cbs and antennas and such. he had said that when he was down in the states that some ppl had the regualr 4ft fiberglass antennas but when you would key in the entire thing would glow. from tip to mount.

has anyone ever heard of these before or know where to buy them? or was this guy just pulling my leg.

I believe they're out there, although I haven't seen one myself. If anyone would have them, it'd probably be a truck stop (maybe check Ebay too).

Years ago friends & I would tape little neon bulbs or fluorescent tubes to the top of our antennas and they would light up when we keyed down. We could never keep one on it for more than a couple days though, they'd get broken any time the antenna hit a tree or overpass.

thats awsome. im glad he wasnt screwing with me though... haha my only problem would be i want both mine to glow green but one antenna goes to me stereo and one to the cb. so it wont work out..

either way i thought itd be somthing cool to share

nope. im talking about the 4ft ones like what truckers have and u see behind the cab on pickups. there usually black or white and fiberglass.

i know this is old but i was at the louisville truck show and they have them in red and amber and have a spring so there safe to go in the woods and high speeds and there like 29.99 for two or close to there ill look for his card and website n ill give u the info he sells good cb equipment for cheap

thanks. i was originally looking for green cause that was the color theme on my ranger ( black and green) but it rolled... and the replacment f 150 is red so that works
