I am having problems with my ignition switch, so i replaced it.. the new switch is doing the same thing... I start my truck, and the oil and fuel guage don't move, but if i move the key alittle bit the guages start working, as do my wipers! an anybody tell me what is going on, and maybe how to fix this problem. Thanks.....

Check the plug in the column. It's the one right behind the steering wheel on the right hand side. I just bought my Ranger and that was the only thing wrong with it. It would try to run but would die out quickly and none of the gauges worked. All I had to do was clean all the contacts inside the switch and run a large hose clamp around the whole column to hold it in place since the tabs were broke off. Once the column cover is back on you cant even see the hose clamp. Hope this helps.
