Not exactly a ranger, referring to my 2002 Explorer with 4.6L V8, this has coil on plug arrangement.

Getting very bad ignition noise pickup in my receiver. It was tolerable until a few months ago when I had it in the shop. While in the shop they had pulled the coil packs for some work being done. They suggested replacing the extensions that go from the coil to the plug. No change of the coils. Now the noise is pretty strong.

Any ideas how I could address this? Back with wires I remember it was possible to get resistor wires that reduced noise.

Any help welcome.

Unplug coils one at a time until you find the one making the noise, then replace it. It isn't hard.

That thought occurred to me.

I guess I was also wondering if there were coils that might be less noisey or other mitigations that might be worth considering.

Obviously, if it is one bad coil that is a simple fix.

Thanks
