any of you guys running 35's or bigger on your IFS Rangers? if so have you had issues with the wheel barrings? if no. how long have you had them on your rig? if yes do you beat the crap out of it? thinking about puting 35's on my 2003 ranger FX4, just want to know if im asking for problems by doing that.

I think most ppl with ifs rangers just go sas, due to the lift's being so high. But I have seen a few with them.

if youre going to put 35's on your 03 ranger, you should consider changing the gears in the rear end. youll probably go through wheel bearings more that you normally would but it really wont cause any significant damage. i would suggest a 33. theyll be better for your wallet!

Bearings aren't usually a problem if you stay with a fairly neutral backspaced rim, 15x8 vs 5x10 or 17x9's (usually 4.5" BS) work well. Your gonna wear front end parts quicker then with a 31, but thats the cost of larger tires, ball joints and tie rod ends become more of a concern, and you'll have to watch for them loosening up on ya. Other then that, giv'r... 35's are about as big as ya wanna go on either ranger IFS setup, A arm or TTB.

I think anything above 33s is pushing it on a A-arm IFS Ranger, not because of the wheel bearings, but because of the lo-pinion diff and the CV shafts. There are some here who do run them though. 4.88 is the deepest you can gear it (great if you have a 4.0L, but not quite enough for a smaller engine w/35s).

As said, keep the offset on your wheels within reason and you should be OK on the bearings. A standard 15x8 w/3.75" backspace, or a 15x10 or 17x9 w/4.5" backspace should all be fine. Avoid 15x10s w/3.75 BS.

was already planing on doing 15X8's with a 4.5 back spacing. reason im hopeing the 35's will work is because i already got a set of 35's, off my bronco2. and im trying to be cheep. if the 35's will work then i can save myself the $$$ to buy the 33's. reson i assumed the wheel barrings would be the issue is, because on my old ranger (2000) i have 32's on it and had nothing but issues with the whell barrings. but i owned that before i had my b2 and i beat the snot out of it. i dont think im going to need to regear, but i could be wrong. my 2003 has the SOHC 4.0l and 4.10 gears. i run 4.56's in my b2 and it does just fine with the 2.9l and the 4.56's. so i would think that sence the 4.0l has almost twice the torqu i could give up .46 in the grears. but if i cant fit them all this is for nothing. still not sure if i will be able to. im going to be puting in a 3" body lift in withing the next month or two, and am willing to cranck my tourtion bars a little if i have to, but dont want to max them out. i took a look at the tech section to look for a fit up. and did see the ranger with the 3" body lift "major" tourtion bar crank ans 35X15.50's. but from the pic i cant even tell if the truck could turn with them tires on it, and i dont want to do a "major" T bar crank, and the 35's i have are only 12.50's any way.

I had a 99 on 35's. 4 inch super lift and 3 inch body. I went through hubs like it was going out of style. But it was a 3.0 flex fuel and I had no problems as far as power. I could run 80 on the interstate no problem. If you don't mind changing hubs once or twice a year go for it. I sold the truck but I have been thinking about doing it to my 04.

It is going to be tight. I know people run 35's with just a body lift but there is no way you can do much with that setup. I still rub with RCD they say it is 5.5" but I call it 5" & a body lift.
