hey everyone ,i am new to this so bare witmy typin please!!? my 94 ranger 4.0 4 wheel drive has lately wanted to ilde higher than normal on cold start normally 1500rpm, then after warm wants to stay around 1000 rpm, also after it has warm sometimes after i have cut it off and start back in a few it loads up and want clear out untill i put the truck in motion. I have done all of the things like change (ICV) and (TPS) cleaned throttle body , could it be the mass air flow? or were is the vacum leak at? Also to add i noticed here lately that it idles up high when the compressor kicks on but goes right back down. Some days it runs like it ought to ( but not to many):icon_bounceblue:

Idle problems

Fie 1, I'm having the same problem and have been banging my head against the wall trying to figure it out. I have a faulty CPS code come up, however I doubt it's that since the truck runs and starts fine (except for the high idle). A few guys in town told me it's probably a vacuum leak. I tried spraying carb cleaner around the intake to find the leak, however I don't find a noticable change in the idle. When I rev the engine I hear a loud sucking noise. Is that normal? Is it the air resonating in the intake plenum? Or do I have a huge vacuum leak?
