I have been working on a 1951 MG TD with what is supposed to be a Ford Cologne V6 engine transplant.
I replaced the thermostat housing gasket and could not find one by looking at pictures of the supposed engine year - mid 1980's so I made one out of gasket material.
I have attached a right side picture of the engine and was hoping someone could identify it for me.
Thanks.

A wider angle would have been nice.

The only Ford V6 I know of with siamesed exhaust ports like you seem to have is the 2.8L, which is a Cologne engine. Being in a 51 I assume it is carb'd, which is also consistent with a 2.8L.

If the thermostat is on the bottom of the engine that seals it as a 2.8L.

It looks like the racer walsh offenhauser intake.
See attached picture. PO had made his own water neck but no provision for thermostat.

In the earlier (pre December '84) 2.8's, there was no thermostat at that location. If you follow the lower radiator hose to the front cover, underneath that three eared housing is where the thermostat lives.
