Hi all, just got a Ranger and have found this website really helpful so far! My truck came with these alloy wheels that I cant id and was hoping someone here may know. They are 15" rims and they have a very thin spacer behind them.
Does this spacer seem safe to keep on? it looks pretty flimsy and doesn't seem well centered.

The spacer should be fine it is probably just enough to get past the hub. As far as the wheels they are favtory wheels but I'm not sure if they are ranger or another ford vehicle I'm sure someone will chime in with an answer.

That wheel is off a Jeep Cherokee.

Right I thought they looked familiar. A lot of friends have those and raise them for off roading. I eventually want 16" wheels as I've heard they have a better selection of tires for that size. For now these tires it came with have good tread though.

Yeah, 15" is becoming an odd-ball size, kind of like 14's did years ago.

What's really sad is you pay more for less tire.

Wonder why the wheel sizes keep getting bigger. I don't see any reason besides appearance. I plan to get the bfgoodrich T/A KO2 once these wear out, my buddies have them and they are great off road and decent on pavement too. Never hear much bad about them.

My theory on bigger wheel size is the factory is trying to copy the customizers/hotrodders.

Just a update for everyone. I just installed new rotors on my truck and th hub is slightly smaller on the edge so it now fits the center bore of the Jeep wheels without a spacer. I was going to bore out the centre as I really didn't feel good having those flimsy spacers in but problem solved. It seems Jeep wheels sometimes fit over the hub but it depends on the rotor brand and other factors.

And for the record, those wheels are off a Limited Explorer. My ex wifes 94 had them.....

Bloodbane, Very similar in design, Explorers had a larger center cap that covered lug nuts. Take a look in the Tech section for the different wheels pictured. You can see the difference. So, I agree that they are Cherokee wheels.
