Hello
Would appreciate some assistance.
I am having problems locating a wire/plug. I cannot find the wire/plug that the plug in the photo should be plugged into.
It is a two wire plug (pictured below) the two wires are orange/yellow and purple/yellow
The plug is located at the rear of the engine to the rear of the lower intake manifold.
The upper intake manifold is removed in the photo. You can still see the plug with the upper intake manifold installed but it is difficult to film
Or does anyone have a document that shows connector locations?
1994 Ford Ranger 4.0 XLT manual transmission
Thank you very much

I think I have the same plug...I'll give it a shot today and get back to you.

Oh..and Welcome to TRS.

I have records showing those wire colors as being something to do with the automatic transmission when I did my swap. Not sure if applies to a 94 though.

Thanks for the replies and assists! It is a manual tranny. It looks too clean to have not been used though I could be wrong. Just cannot find anything near it that it would plug into.

Went to the local Ford dealer today and saw where it should be on their wiring diagrams but the plug was not there!
I am the original owner and I am the only one who has ever worked on this truck except a clutch replacement when I was out of state so nothing has been added to the wiring harness.

Strange.
The EVTM shows connector locations, but the only one(s) I can seen in that area are for the O2 sensors and they are a four wire connector.
I crawled around and over the top of mine and could find nothing back there. I do have an auto though.
Your link shows that it is an ABS wheel sensor, but the 94 only had rear ABS I think.
HMMM....

Who did the clutch replacement?

Welcome to TRS :)

Its for an automatic trans in 1994, my manual trans 1994 has the same plug in but has a cap/plug in it so your cap may have come off recently which is why it looks so clean

Its for the 2 solenoids in an A4LD automatic trans
Orange/yellow and purple/yellow wires

Well then...that explains that.
I was just messing with those solenoids last month but didn't mess with the wiring.

Good to know.

Hey Rumblecloud, RonD and SenorNoob
Thank very much for going out of your way to assist a stranger.
Those answers give me a definitive answer so I can finish the job with confidence.
A great value to me.
A automotive service place in northern Oregon did the clutch. I was 300 miles from home on business and my company paid for the service.
They did the clutch and it failed a week later and they did it again under warranty, during the night their clean up crew tossed my catalytic converter and they had to replace it with a new one, they also did a modification that was supposed extend the life of a bearing in the transmission.
I was impressed with them it was 10 or 15 years ago and I do not remember their name
Hope I can assist you some day.
I do have an aluminum block I made to clean fuel injectors if anyone needs I can send to them.
Thanks again

Back together and running fine!
Next will be replacing the oil sender then replacing the transmission.
