Yes, we all have ideas that either come together as a plan or pop like a ballon in a catus garden!!
This is my Factory Ford accessories prerunner bar for the Ranger and BroncoII I bought brand new from Ford in '90. I had bought my new 89 BroncoII at the Ford dealer and when I came in for my first free service job (got 2 years free with purchase) I saw a catalog in the lobby and took it home. I ordered the bumper the next month and it sat in my garage until I sold it two years ago on Ebay.
Putting it together:
I bubble wrapped it up and then put it away. I never put it on any of my trucks. I was going to use it on my 99 Ranger the summer before last (08) I went ahead and unpacked it from the boxes put it in and I thought it might be just a bit short. I thought I would have to add some spacer brackets to mount it after I took of my front bumper to see how it would look...but I changed my mind. I already had another bumper made up by a Suzuki builder and he built a bumper for me and left off the brackets so I could have my own made up and welded on. He took his bumper plans and just added the extra length I requested for the front end of the Ranger. I just never put it onw and changed my mind once again. I sold both bumpers on Ebay in 08. I should have just put on one of those bumpers. I am so wishy washy. Now, I bet I can't get anybody to build me another bumper for the price I had that Suzuki bumper built for ($265.00 with shipping). What a deal that was!!!!!
Here is the Suzuki Samurai bumper I had made to fit my 99 Ranger:
