Idea for a Mod, thoughts wanted.

I like when people have a 3rd brake light... because there are times (such as at dusk) where the brake lights look like they don't change much from the taillights, and its harder to tell when someones slowing down or stopping.

Just remember though, if you make your braking lights all bad boy you should have it switched if you do trail runs. Your pal behind you will be miserable and may break out the .454 casul to turn the lights off. :icon_thumby:

That is true. A simple 2 position switch would do the trick.

If you do get a led light strip, don't get the "Bully" brand one, it's a POS. I have a streetglow one that has lasted two years with no burned out bulbs or any other problems. The bully one lasted until the first rain. Junk.

Yes it would and easy peasy too. I went on a run one time behind a bling thing and just f'in stopped. The radio lite up from those behind and I said no prob you want to be behind this guy have at it... Nobody said a word but he heard it on his radio and pulled the fuse. Great on the roads but bad, bad on the trail.

Musta been an option then. I have a buddy with a 95 that only has the cargo light like my truck.

Full OBDII, but no high-mount.

My '93 2x4 2.3L had one.

About the tailgaters....whatever you decide to put on your truck...you should have it say something along the lines of:

"GET OFF MY ASS!!"

or

MY PROCTOLOGIST DOESN'T EVEN GET THAT CLOSE!!" :D

do you have a Reese hitch? if you do you can put a light in your receiver slot like i did .. here's mine

Well, I don't do trail runs. The most off road time it really sees is screwing around in the fields, and that isn't often.

My problem isn't really with tailgaters, just idiots who don't see a third brake light and seem to not get that I can still be on the brakes without one.

I do have a Reese hitch, but it's sitting in the storage unit. I have to modify my exhaust before it will fit because my pipes come straight out the back. I need to cut them down and get elbows in.
