I hope all my Florida ppl made it through the Hurricane we had this week. It touched down about an hour south of me. All we got were rain and winds with a few power outages here & there. @bilbo How did you guys make out. Was this your first Hurricane since moving to FL?

It did look pretty nasty from what i seen on tv. Atleast it stayed on the throttle and didnt sit and linger like some do.

sorry to hear that. I hope everyone is OK.
The local news was really hyping it up as a "one of a kind" storm. The water was warmer than it usually is this time of year and that was supposed to be fuel for the storm. A freind of mine in Wakulla County has property damage but he & his family are OK.
The good thing is, in his area, little had been repaired since the last Hurricane that wiped out Mexico Beach, so not much was damaged.

My in-laws on Estero Island (Ft Meyers Beach) had about a 2’ storm surge in their area. Which isn’t anywhere near as bad as last years 12’, but still did some damage. They live on the 5th floor of a condo unit, they’re fine.

We were here for Ian and Nicole last year. We had a bunch of wind and rain and lost power for half a day but not too bad.

This one was pretty far west of us so thankfully no impact other than getting cloudy for a day. I think our wind gusts maxed at about 30 mph here.

As warm as the gulf is, it's a very good thing it moved so fast. Had it had time to build it could have been much worse.
