I want to get rid of the terrible stock intake on my 2.3l and replace it with something that has a high flow cone filter, etc. I'm sure lots of people have done this, and i'm wondering what have everyone done with the IAC valve and that other vacuum valve that is attached to the airbox?

not too sure how much power you are going to see out of that just get a different intake and cone...best way to get the power is going to be to port and polish the intake

The 2.3L uses the same air filter as the 3.0L and 4.0L, so it is way over-sized for the 2.3L. So, you won't gain anything but more noise with the cone type filter / intake.

That may be, but the insurance companies don't know that, so this could be an easy way to boost resale value. So, what can be done to relocate the IAC?

Not much. It kinda has to sit so one hole is on either side of the throttle plate for it to work right.

I assume its the 85 in your box?

Not quite sure what you mean. But no it is fuel injected. The IAC is attached to the side of the air box, and has a seperate hose running along the intake hose to the throttle body. There is also a vacuum operated something or other on the top of the air box that I have no idea what its for... It is about the size of a coin, has a black vacuum line running to the main vacuum, and a black vacuum hose with a yellow strip running to somewhere under the battery

That's not an IAC.

I have no idea what it is, but given that you don't have a fulie, I can 100% positively say, that isn't an IAC.

That is an IAT Intake air temp sensor it monitors the temp of the air coming in the intake. you can take your new intake and drill a hole for it and still be able to use it.

My bad dude. I thought that said "no it's NOT fuel injected". Um, I'm still not sure exactly what we are talking about, but I'm also still pretty sure its not an IAC.

IAC should be bolted to the side of the throttle body. I don't think its the IAT either though, that should be screwed into the intake manifold.

Got pics?

I can't seem to post any pictures, and copy and past doesn't seem to work. How do I do this?
