IAC question

well i had a 93 2.3 mustang and i know when i kicked on my a/c the engine went up like 200-300 rpms. now my 94 ranger doesnt do that. i even repplaced my IAC and nothing. manual says i should hear an rpm drop when i unplug it. but i don't hear any. any idea whats wrong?

Are you sure that the A/C clutch is engaged?
