Idle seemed good on start up for a few weeks. One day on Startup, it surges up to about 2, 200 and then immediately settled back down. Now this is what it does every time get started unless it's warm or been running I am now on my third Auto Advance Auto parts. IAC

From my experience all of the house brand iac's are junk and never work right on our trucks. Either go factory original or high quality brand.

It's not like these things are rocket science parts, they really are pretty simple just a solenoid and air Passage.

I don't know why they is so much so often wrong with them

Because they are made as cheap as possible with the lowest Quality Parts I am telling you this because I went through three or four of them also years ago bought Factory original Motorcraft never had a problem again

That's why I put my original Ford Motor Company one back in without cleaning or anything....it worked 200% better than the several I tried from Autozone with their lifetime warranty.

Revved to the moon when cold....coulda blown my motor up!

Swapped out after the counter man argued I had an air leak but reluctantly swapped me another one...same thing.

Put FOMOCO one back in...no problems.

If I were you, I'd go find an original in a junkyard and run it...seriously.

Well I found the old one or the old one from my other truck (same engine) it's wide open,. they are supposed to be almost all the way closed without electricity, correct?

Not necessarily the computer will adjust it when you turn the key on

Well I'm going to get this brake booster and master cylinder changed out this week. will adress the IAC later.
