I WANT NAMES!

It's top secret stuff...

Yeah; if they're wearing this on their TRS Forum Moderator uniform, don't even ask!

An engineer that didn’t have to work on it. No matter the vehicle, there is always something about it that will make a mechanic scream.

Why did you disconnect it like that anyway? I just take the two bolts that hold the valve to the intake out... they're easier to deal with... I don't remember how I dealt with the back bolt but I don't remember it being a big deal, biggest problem was the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator or EGR valve or something... the one that goes under the upper intake, and I broke the PCV...

I mean, most of your complaints are valid, the long intake runners are apparently good for torque so there's that... when I pulled the upper intake manifold it was just to change the spark plugs and fuel injectors...

I completely undid the tube cause I wanted it as far out of the way as possible lol. That line under the upper intake IS a pain though yes lol, not looking forward to putting that back on.

Are the pcv valves on these like the ones on the duratecs that need replacing every 15k or whatever?

No, they're just generic PCV valves, sure it's probably not a bad idea to change them since they're $4 but a year and a half ago I broke the original Motorcraft one from '97...

If it’s the old style valve with the metal piece that rattles around when you shake it, as long as it rattles freely, it’s still good. You can hit it with some cleaner to clean out any build up and put it back in. If it is hanging up, you can try cleaning it. As inexpensive as the part is, just changing it is probably the better move. The ones with the plastic housing do get brittle over time.

I'll see how the valve looks when I get back over there. If it looks like it has some age on it I'll probably just go ahead and replace it

theres a bunch of harness that hugs the back of the motor and the cover that makes the final removal of the cover an absolute tetris nightmare.
That was Randy B. , from Accounting.

Replacing the drivers side valve cover gasket on a 2.9 w/AC ain’t no picnic either……
