i wanna yank out my 2.9 and drop in a 302 what would i need and would i have to change my trany and computer

You do need a new trans, and a new computer. You will need new engine mounts to make it fit right. Headers are also needed (long tube I think). If you have a 4x4 there will be clearance issues with the engine cross member. There is a conversion kit with a c-notched oil pan and a remote filter adapter.

Your wiring harness can get reused. All you should need to do to the wiring harness is get 2 more injector connectors and splice them on to the end of the injector harness, not a big deal if you run batch fire injection. Have fun with your conversion.

Duel sump oil pan, 88 crown vics have them.... Realy an 88 crown vic will have most of what you need if you want to go EFI and dont mind having a NON H.O. motor.....

Advanced adapters makes an adapter plate (tail housing and shaft) for about $500 and change to bolt the ranger/broncoII 1350 transfer to the crown vics AOD. this will allow you to use your stock drive lines.... Cheep to, you can in most cases get a used crown vic for around $800 in decent shape.
