For the past year my cousin and I have been working on this '90 CRX Si on and off..
I had put a quarter panel on the passenger side, fixed all the rust on the car, and we had started putting on a cheap body kit off of ebay. Also got a brand new fender, and a brand new sunroof panel from Honda. Put a nice dash in it because someone else had glued leopard print to the old one
We were building this car just to sell it, and had tried to sell it at one point. Since no one bid on it, we wanted to finish it and just beat the **** out of it, do some engine mods, and most likely put a bottle to it till it blew up.
Last Saturday my cousin found a Craigslist ad. 16 year old kid had a 1967 Mustang "project car" he wanted to trade for a Honda CRX. We went and looked at it, and knew right away we wanted this Mustang. We decided to tow the CRX to him to look at (it was a 60 mile drive one way). Took it up and down the road, and they knew they wanted it right then. So we came home with this gem..
After we cleared all the parts out of the car, we found someone had screwed sheetmetal down on the floorpans. The drivers side was perfect still, why they "patched" it I have no idea, but unfortunately the passenger side wasn't so nice.
The floors are the worst part of the whole car. Theres one small rust hole about the size of a quarter on the passenger door, and some pinholes behind the rear wheels.
The car came with all of the stainless and chrome, and the whole interior is there. The seats are original and they are in MINT condition, but they are not going back in the car. Car was originally a 289/4-spd. It came with a '73 302/c4, which for the most part is a junk engine, so I'll be using it to put in my Bronco II to putt around in the woods.
Major plans for the car are an Eleanor body kit, preferably a 4.6/5-spd, slap a flatblack paintjob on it and a couple seats, and beat the **** out of it.
All in all, I think we got a hell of a deal.
