Just bought a used 5.5in Skyjacker lift, coils, pitman, drop radius arm brackets, 3 of the 4 shock are good lift blocks for the rear, (lift came off a ranger)a 7.5 as well as a D28 with all the crap still still attached but the drivers side lift bracket. I can't seem to find that bracket, I think the guy set it on the trailer without me knowing after I secured my load. It must have fallen off. Now whats my options? Thus far I don't have a crap load into this lift but I have enough into it that I can't afford to buy new brackets.

I wanna say fab it yourself but I don't know if you can or if it's too complicated a bracket to even try. Try calling up sky jacker and see if they'll sell you a single. Maybe check out craigslist or post a wanted AD on here and some other ranger forums. I'd unhook the trailer and drive back the way I came, I doubt somebody would stop for a hunk of metal like that.

I agree.....retrace your route

Whissiswheelin [I think thats correct spelling] posted up dimensions for making your own brackets....search button. Also copykat sells a weld it yourself kit for a 2" drivers and passenger bracket that includes the holes to use a d-44 as well as the stock d-28/35. You may be able to use the majority of his kit to make a 5.5" drivers side bracket. I bought his kit but haven't welded it together yet, it looks good. Google his name as he doesn't frequent this forum anymore.
Good luck,

Richard

You bought a used suspension kit? Is it in mint shape?

Come on straycat, not everyone has lots of money. True, you have to be careful, but there are lots of good deals out there, especially for those of us that have more time than money.

I just re-read my response and it may be a little heavy. What got my back up was the implication that it has to be new to be good.

Darn, I see people selling new lift kits every once in awhile on Craigslist or Ebay for around $500 complete with shocks...Procomp or Skyjacker 4-5 inch lifts. My brother-in-law is going to check this one out today for his 95 F-150. It is a new Procomp 4 inch lift and this is what says he wants. It is in the Tampa area. I just never thought of buying a used lift kit. Maybe if it was a real close friend and I knew their truck....hmmmmmm.

Hah is the view good from that high horse?

Nothing is wrong with used parts if you pick them up for a decent price, I work hard for my money, i dont like to waste it.

Hmmmm...Most of the times I see post here where somebody buys used and it cost more in the long run. I don't like to buy used parts that my life depended on like used brake parts or a hard used lift kit that if they break could cuse an injury or a death!! I have bought good used rearends and motors and tranmissions. I said I might buy a used lift it it is very good shape from somebody I know. You just need to know what you are looking at.

:icon_surprised: Holy piss. I thought cats needed whiskers for their equilibrium or something. Does that cat run into walls when it walks?

(Sorry for the jack OP)

This cat can fly....he has wings...He is...Bat Cat...that is what we call him.

The lift came off a 4cyl ranger, not a hole lot you can do in that so I'm guessing it wasn't wheeled real hard. the brackets looked great no cracks and clean minus a bit of surface rust. The retrace is over 40 miles. I doubt I will find it 4 days later. :(
I picked it up for less then the price of the Skyjacker pitman drop for it. Either way I can part it out and get my money back.
I got with the guy he said he thinks he did set it on the trailer, he double checked his garage where the stray parts were laying and its not there.
