I used this table was still confused.

I have a 96 4cyl 2wd ranger and the tranny is pretty toast. I found a 93 2wd 6cyl tranny close for cheap. According to the chart they are different tranny's, but they have the same code which is "T". Would it work? Would I have driveline issues? I have looked into all writeups on replacing the vb gaskets and those are extremely useful and I am considering that as well. Sorry!!!!! I tried!

http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/AutoTrans.html ---It said mechanically they are the same, but didn't specify if it'd work

93 will not work in a 96..93 is still part hydraulic operated and 96 is full electronic operated or computer controlled and bell housings are differant. To this day i have never seen blowed out valve body gaskets on this unit and i have rebuilt a few 100 of them.

Thanks guys for getting back to me so fast. I appreciate it.
